KANAYO & NGOZI MISSION REPORT!

OUR NOVEMBER MISSION REPORT!

We praise and thank God for all His mercies on us! It marvels us how awesome His faithfulness on us is. He kept protecting us from all calamities – especially the natural disasters – earthquakes and typhoons that have devastated the Philippines in the recent time.

Our hearts go out to hundreds of our Badjao and other Filipino people that died as a result of the last month’s typhoon Yolanda that devastated parts of the Philippines, especially the cities of Ormoc and Tacloban in Leyte Province.

Kanayo and our mission assistant were there to do a survey work on how best we can serve the victims in the two cities. Our idea is not to duplicate what others are currently doing on ground, but to do something different. Our plan therefore is to contribute towards the spiritual rebuilding of the cities, especially Tacloban. In the light of this, we’re mobilizing for Bibles and other materials that will enable them bounce back again spiritually.

 (Kanayo in Tacloban)

During our visit to Tacloban, we had so many cases of people whose bibles were washed away by the flood, and even churches that have not been able to hold Sunday services. So, we’ll be getting back to Tacloban after our scheduled Concert for a Course on December 13, where we intend to raise support for the victims to be a blessing to some of them there. Please put us in your prayers.

Please remember the last time, we mentioned about our intended mission furlough to Nigeria early next year, and the need for us to get early cheap tickets. We’re yet to hit our target, and December is the end of the promo for cheap tickets. As we pointed out earlier, instead of the initial $4,000, with the promo, we’ll pay just $2, 885 for two of us. It’s a great opportunity we don’t want to miss!

(Kanayo with some people they ministered to in Tacloban)

Prayer Points:
1. Help us pray for our planned mission outreach to the flood victims in Tacloban city. We need enough financial resources in order to continue with that mission.
2. Pray for our scheduled travel to Nigeria by first quarter next year, and for God’s provision of funds for our flight tickets (international and domestic).
3. Help us praise and thank God for His protection on us, and that no natural or human disaster will affect us here.
4. Our monthly allowance has remained at its lowest. Please help us pray as we trust God for more monthly donors for our numerous mission projects.

Thanks so much for praying along with us! If while you’re praying and the good Lord lays it in your heart to donate to our mission work, please use this our Nigeria local Naira account:  GT Bank Plc, Acct. name: Success Kanayo Uchime, Acct. Number (Naira) 0115100140

STILL COUNTING DOWN!

BY SUCCESS KANAYO UCHIME

Our gratitude goes to Jehovah for the grace to be alive to witness the new month-March and to you also for always being there for us. May the good Lord continue to keep and bless you in Jesus name!

February has remained the most traumatic month for us since we came here in the Philippines in 2008 to start our long-term mission work, having witnessed the terrible effects of the 6.9 magnitude earthquake that devastated this part of the Philippines.

(Missionaries Kanayo & Ngozi Uchime)

Immediately after that hurrible incidence, our daughter Nkeoma celebrated her 18th birthday, that was on February 12th and it was a time to give God thanks for His deliverance and protection. Please commit her to God in your prayer as she rounds off her 2nd year in the University this March!

We’re still counting down on our proposed summer vacation to Nigeria this March ending and our proposed date still remains 25th – 30th depending on the availability of flight on any of the dates.

But the great challenge still remains that up till date, we’ve not purchased our air-tickets. We need to hurry in order to avail the cheaper rate that’s fast closing. We strongly believe that the Lord will do it for us. Our faith is so high and we are very optimistic about it! So, please continue to pray along with us for divine intervention, for with God all things must remain possible.

Just as we mentioned in our last mail to you, we still request our friends in Nigeria that wish to donate toward our travel to call any of these numbers for details on how to do so: 08023657067 or 018933341. Those outside Nigeria may log on to our website: http://kmointer.webs.com/giveyourdonation.htm  for other ways to donate

Best regards!

KANAYO & NGOZI MISSION REPORT!

OUR JANUARY 2012 MISSION REPORT/PRAYER ALERT!

We praise God for His mercies in our lives and may His name be glorified at all time! Although the month of January was very challenging to us as we were somehow  affected by the trouble in Nigeria, but the good Lord still saw us through and we are convinced that He'll continue to see us through in all our endeavors in Jesus name!

Despite all the challenges, we’ve continued our ministry to the Badjao tribal people, meeting with them every Thursday at the Boulevard area here in Dumaguete City. Our resolve and commitment is to ensure that every Badjao that comes into the City will hear the gospel at least ones, therefore, please, keep praying for us!

(Kanayo, Ngozi & kids, looking forward to a vacation to Nigeria)

Again, we are still having a countdown on the date for our proposed mission vacation to Nigeria and we’ve barely one month left to our scheduled date i.e. end of March. We are delighted to hear that one of the airlines that fly Nigeria gives discount to missionaries.

It then means that, instead of paying $2, 100 each - the current regular price for return ticket, we’ll only pay $1, 200 ($2, 400 for two of us) and this is for a limited number of people for 2012.

It’s our heart desire to avail this promo immediately as fund is made available to us. So, again, please commit this to prayer, as we believe that God will really answer us, for nothing is impossible with Him!

Once again, thanks for your prayer support and as usual, we request that you help us mobilize for prayer awareness in your church/fellowships and also to forward this mail to as many Christian friends you have. Or better still to send us emails of your friends that you feel can help us in prayers!

SEASONAL GREETINGS FROM KANAYO & NGOZI!

Thank God you made it to 2012! As we welcome you into this new year, we wish you a happy and prosperous NEW YEAR! It’s our prayer that this year 2012 will be a year of great expectations from God for you. We rejoice each time we remember you in our prayer and just like the apostle Paul, we say: “I thank my God every time I remember you… I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now” (Philippians 1:3-6).

We praise the Lord for 2011, it was a year of many blessings for us and we expect that in 2012 we’ll experience greater blessings of God in our lives and ministry here in the Philippines. And with the assurance of your continued support to us we’ll be able to tread on new grounds.

(Missionaries Kanayo & Ngozi Uchime)

(Kanayo & Ngozi ministering to the Badjao tribal people in Dumaguete city)

Remember we told you in our last report about our 2011 Christmas party for the Badjao tribal people, yes! It was actually held, though the Badjao people were mourning the death of their loved ones during the last “sendong” typhoon that hit the Philippines, but lots of them were able to turn out for the event. The good Lord helped us and provided what we needed for the party.

Again, we are now having a countdown on the date for our proposed furlough to Nigeria and we’ve barely two months left to go. Our greatest challenge still remains the purchase of our tickets for the travel by March; we have missed some good rates before now and the prices keep changing per day.

Please remember us in your personal prayer over this very important issue in our lives, as the furlough will greatly enable us take vacation to our country Nigeria, where we intend to appreciate those who’ve been supporting us here this past three years, and also request for new supporters.

Once again, thanks for your support and as usual, we request that you help us mobilize for prayer awareness in your church/fellowships. You may also help us to forward this mail to as many Christian friends you have. Or better still to send us emails of your friends that you feel can help us in prayers!

 Best regards!

Nigerians Make Quick Income From Cowpea Production, Processing Scienceray

Philippines Flood Disaster Victims Cry For Help

The recent typhoon ‘sendong’ that took place in parts of the Philippines as you’re aware devastated a lot of homes and left so many people dead and homeless, with many losing their hard-earned property. It was really so bad, especially here in Dumaguete City where we’re based.
Also affected are the Badjao tribal people that we’re ministering to. Their case is so pathetic in the sense that no one speaks for them, being a highly marginalized and stigmatized people here in the Philippines. They lost a lot also – many killed by the flood, their sources of livelihood like canoes, which they usually use as their living accommodation washed away, but no one talks about their plight, incidentally.

(2011 Christmas Party for the Badjao people)

The irony is that they’re not benefitting from the relief materials being distributed at present by the mainline churches and organizations, this is too bad!

During our last Christmas party for them on December 22, most of them complained to us so bitterly by lamenting on their many loses and the little we had couldn’t go around. No one listens to them – they’re not in the plan of the Government, churches or other donor agencies. But we know that they’re in the plan of God!

Based on the foregoing, we’ve decided to open up a special appeal for them, hoping that someone somewhere will hear and come over to help them. They’ve never had a home for themselves being nomadic people and they usually stay along the shorelines, which predisposes them to dangers such as the recent flooding. So the little they’ve is no more!

(The little relief we shared with the Badjao people)

So, please whatever you’ve to share with them, we promise to be a good custodian of that by ensuring that it gets to them adequately. Your one Dollar ($1) or so can make a great difference in their lives.
